M23 rebels called upon to regroup

I recall the Rwandan Patriotic Front soldiers were defeated and pushed back to the Rwanda/ Uganda border. The group was disorganised following the death of their leader Rwigyema.

Just like M23 rebels were disorganised this week…I believe it is a temporally victory by the Kinshasha government of Joseph Kabila.

President Kabila has a task to consolidate his.power in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Political analysts in the Great Lakes Region say that Rwandan Preident Paul Kagame and his counterpart of Uganda, Gen. Museveni can not sleep if the Hutu militants’ and Interahamwe is still in Congo. Museveni and Kagame have some blood connections with the Hutu and Interahamwe. The political observers say that to Kagame and Museveni the defeat of M23 rebels is unfinished business. However Museveni and Kagame deny their support to M23 rebels.

The observers suspect that the M23 rebels can play weak…as they regroup and besides the Democratic Republic of Congo border is porous. Therefore people should not be shocked by the M23 rebel counter attack.

African rebels don’t just give up easily if they have external support. The DRC government together with United Nations (UN) officially announced the defeat of M23 Rebel Group on November 6, 2013. Most of M23 combatants surrendered to UN Forces and others ran to Uganda and Rwanda. But the Kabila government, South Africa and Tanzania are wondering what the sponsors of M23 rebels are planning next.
