Kyambogo university lecturers who will not show up on monday next week for work will be sacked.

Government has directed the council of Kyambogo University to
implement the court ruling and ensure that the institution runs
normally starting on monday.

Court ruling allowed the Vice Chancellor Prof Isaiah Omolo Ndiege to
resume work.

Ndiege had stepped aside to allow investigations concerning the
accusation raised by the lecturers that he was mismanaging the
institution.

In his ministerial statement to parliament the minister for higher
education Chrysostom Muyingo said that government respects the rule of
law and the council should ensure that all lecturers report by Monday
and failure to do so disciplinary action will be taken against them.

Teachers at Kyambogo University are apparently on strike following
court ruling that saw Ndiege being re instating.
