Last night president Museveni and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) director, Jenifer Musisi had a meeting of councilors in Kampala at the president’s office in Kampala.
A lot was said during the meeting. But the main issue was on Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago’s ejection by KCCA councilors. Lukwago is being accused by KCCA councilors of abuse of office, misconduct and failure to convene council meetings.
The councilors told the president that they are furious with Lukwago because he disrespects them. However, during the meeting, it was revealed how all Lukwago’s problems started.
The problems were reportedly started by Jenifer Musisi when she took all councilors in Kampala to banks to mortgage their salaries. Each councilor received between 30-60 million shillings. So it was discovered that whenever Lukwago would call council meetings, Jenifer Musisi would reportedly frustrate his meetings because the councilors would neither gain nor lose whether the meetings take place or not.
As a result, Lukwago also as a person got annoyed and declined to call other council meetings as the law requires him to do. This is why some 17 KCCA councilors petitioned the Kampala Minister Frank Tumwebaze to allow them to impeach the Lord Mayor…
