The chairman, Uganda pharmaceutical manufacturers who also doubles as the CEO kampala pharmaceutical industries, Nazeem Mohamed wants the general public to receive more sensitization about the burden of non communicable diseases and their impact to lives as well as the country’s economy.
Nazeem while speaking to reporters in a workshop organized by CEHURD in kampala today, confirms that the manufacturers are producing first class drugs to treat patients distancing away from reports that local pharmaceuticals are producing sub standard drugs and hence resorting to buying imported drugs.
He also sights challenges of the in availability of data about Non communicable diseases (NCDs) which makes it difficult for manufacturers to produce enough quantities of drugs for the market and now he urges govt to focus more on non communicable disease to help them manufacture drugs that cure these diseases with cancer drugs still exceptional
