The former Tanzanian president, Benjamin Mukapa is calling for the review of the regional education sector mainly for tertiary institutions to better quality of education in the region.
Speaking at the 3rd graduation ceremony of Cavendish university today, HE.Mukapa says that having uniform policies guiding the education sector in the region will help foster quality in the sector since higher education is the base of the country’s economy.
The deputy vice chancellor of the university, Dr. Frywell Shaba Chirwa is of the view that govt considers extending sponsorship of students in private universities the way it done in public universities since they also compliment govt work of educating the nation.
And the former agriculture minister who is also the chair of the speakers’ forum, Victoria Sekitoleko is cautioning female graduates to work extra hard while at work to have their presence witnessed.
The university passed out 718 grandaunts with males accounting for 421 and females 298 in various fields where they received certificates, diplomas, degree and masters degrees.
