Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition where a person sweats excessively and unpredictably. People with hyperhidrosis have overactive sweat glands and many times they sweat even when the temperature is cool.
Sweating is natural and it helps to cool the body. It is normal for people to sweat more during warm temperatures, exercise work and when they are nervous, angry, embarrassed, and or afraid.
However, uncontrollable sweating can lead to discomfort. When excessive sweating affects your hands, feet and armpits, the doctors term it focal hyperhidrosis.
In the majority of primary hyperhidrosis cases, no cause can be found. When the sweating is all over your body it’s called secondary hyperhidrosis. The conditions that bring it may include cancer, lung disease and heart disease.
