Hundreds of youths graduates from Ankole sub region particularly from Kiruhura, Bushenyi, Kabohe, Mbarara and Kashari have dominated police recruitment after hundreds of youths from Buganda, Eastern and Northern Uganda failed to meet the set requirements. In the central region, the police recruitment exercise for the cadet officers was at Kibuli police training school but all the same most of the people who qualified had a connection to people from Ankole.
Kafeero Moses, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) who headed the central police recruitment team says that they registered over 900 candidates in two days.
The applicants for the police cadets were supposed to be aged 18-30 years and had a minimum qualification of a degree from recognized university.
