The director medicine and health services delivery monitoring unit in state house confirms that the three months delayed salaries for medical workers will be no more come March this year after all the hick ups have been cleared.
The confirmations comes at the drop when the shadow health minister, Dr. Lulume Mayiga announced that he will soon be calling on health workers to stage a strike for delayed pay.
But the director, Dr. Atwine Diana attributes that delay to a new govt payment system IPPS in public service that requires district accounting officers to file all the necessary information about district workers which has not been done for sometime hence the delay but confirms the problem is being sorted with many of them are to get their salaries ending February and others at the end of march.Cue.
She also notes that laxity has been found out in the districts of Bukedea, Bulisa, Kisoro, Koboko among others.
