Back pain has several causes according to Uganda’s traditional expert herbalist Dr. Aisha Rashid Lukwago, the proprietor of the Clinic on Aids Research in Namasuba, located off Kampala Entebbe road.

Ms Lukwago says back pain causes include infections, tumours, degenerative conditions and diseases in which the function or structure of the affected tissues or organs increasingly deteriorate over time.

According to Aisha Rashid Lukwago, medical causes of back pain include blockage of the small intestines. Other causes of back pain are trauma and congenital abnormalities.
Back pain is common among people who sit for long time doing desk work.
