Audit professionals have been urged to adhere to the principles of objectivity, integrity, competence and confidentiality.

The Vice President of Uganda Edward Kiwanuka Sekandi says observing the principles of integrity will enhance the performance of audit professionals and reduce corruption, fraud and an unethical behavior. He said this while presiding over the inaugural African Federation of the Institute of Internal Auditors (AFIIA) conference at Commonwealth Resort in Kampala.

Studies conducted in audit profession show that good corporate governance is linked to good performance and increasing in shareholder returns as well as making significant impact in wooing investors. Uganda is still looking for people of integrity who can assist the government to provide services to people.
