Passengers plying Entebbe road were stranded the whole of today at USAFI Taxi Park after taxi drivers went on strike protesting the forceful relocation to USAFI, a park they claim is insecure and has limited space.
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) director Jenifer Musisi on Monday asked taxi stages working along Gaba and Entebbe road to operate at USAFI Taxi Park.
The drivers on affected routes say that the USAFI Taxi Park is located in an area with a high crime record and some passengers have shunned the park for fear of their properties being grabbed by thieves. The drivers have vowed to continue with theirstrike until President Museveni, Kampala minister Frank Tumwebaze and Jenifer Musisi withdraw their relocation orders.
