Uganda launches rotary family health days

 

The miister of state for primary health care, Sara Opendi on Thursday launched the 2014 Rotary Family Health Days at Namboole stadium.

Rotary in Uganda and Rotarians for family health and HIV prevention, a rotary action group, are partnering with the coca cola Africa foundation, AIDS information centre and the ministry of health to bring rotary family health days 2014 to Ugandans.

This is the 4th edition of the Rotarians for family health days and it will involve over 50 rotary clubs and their local community partners in providing free health services at 150 sites across the country to cover 120,000 people. All rotary clubs will work with the district health officers and other qualified medical personel to provide the best medical care.

The rotary movement is moving around Uganda offering HIV testing, HIV counciling, safe male circumcision, family planning, diabetes screening, malaria screening, and treatment, immunisation, maternal health services, and many others.
