Cancer of the cervix begins in the cervix (the mouth of the uterus). It is caused by Human papilloma Virus (HPV) and infections which is sexually transmitted makes a woman suffer from cancer of the cervix.
The cancer of the cervix can be prevented through vaccination against HPV for girls aged 9-13 years. Regular screening for all sexually active women every after 3 years if one is HIV Negative and one year if the woman is HIV positive. Abstaining from sexual practices till marriage, not smoking and being faithful to your lovers can help you to prevent cervix cancer.
