Members of Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) have endorsed former president General of Uganda’s main opposition party, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) as opposition sole candidate for 2016 presidential elections.
Sources told us that Besigye met with the leadership of UYD on Monday at their offices in Kampala and he agreed with them to support his candidature. But Besigye told them to popularize his presidential bid in a way that will make people think it is UYD that requesting him to run for president. It should be remembered that Besigye recently declared that he will not run for presidency of Uganda anymore.
As you read this plans are in full gear to popularise this resolution countrywide-although their NRM counterparts are spending ush4m per subcounty, the UYD hopes police will allow them spread their gospel too.
