People of Burundi, Kenya, South Sudan and Rwanda to get jobs in Uganda

 

The people of Kenya, South Sudan and Rwanda are free to get jobs in Uganda according to an agreement Uganda is about to sign that will remove barriers to free movement of workers and services across east and Central Africa.

The citizens of Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan will access job opportunities anywhere in Uganda as long as they are qualified.

According to Uganda ministerial directive, Uganda agrees that an agreement to liberalise labour movement to Uganda will be drafted soon.

To facilitate the free movement of labour into Uganda, the government in Kampala will scrap work permit fees, mutual recognition and agreement of professional bodies and regulatory authorities and the establishment of a regional qualification framework.
