Wakiso district chairman Matia Lwanga Bwanika has appealed for a special status for Wakiso that will give them more funding to be able to give adequate services to both their rural and urban population.
The Chief Administrative Officer of Wakiso David Naluwayiro had recently said that many schools in the district are grass thatched while many health centres in Wakiso are in sorry state.
Lwanga appealed to president Museveni’s government to address the issue of low pay of civil servants which to him is the main root cause of corruption. The district chairman says teachers and health workers are suffering because of low pay.
