The government of Rwanda in East Africa plans to open embassies in Angola, Zambia, Congo-Brazzaville, Abu Dhabi, and Israel before the end of 2014 in order to strengthen its bilateral relations.
The Rwandan Minister for Foreign Affairs, Louise Mushikiwabo says the move aims at promoting Rwanda’s continental and worldwide relations and operations.
Rwanda plans to use Rwf3.2 billion from its budgetary allocation towards the opening of embassies in Angola, Zambia, Congo-Brazzaville, Abu Dhabi, and Israel.
Rwanda also plans to carryout serious investments in Southern Africa. Rwanda recently received agreements from southern African countries of Luanda-Angola and Lusaka-Zambia.
The Republic of Rwanda is currently in the process of procuring offices and carrying out discussions with respective ministries of foreign affairs to ensure that the operations get started.
