The speaker Rebecca kadaga has asked Government to quickly work on the
electoral laws because the delay will hamper other process which will
facilitate the holding of the general elections.
While speaking at the opening the fourth session of the 9th parliament
at serena hotel
this afternoon, Kadaga asked Government to submit the proposed bills
in time so that parliament can expedite work on these bills.
The speaker said that parliament registered a better performance in
the 3rd session; they have just ended compared to the previous
session.
However she noted that the ministers did not perform well in the
ending session when they failed to answer questions from the members.
Kadaga has also warned mps who continue to absent themselves from
parliament that they will face similar action like their colleagues in
the ending session.
