Uganda police are set to train students in martial arts and weaponry as part of the police force to improve intelligence gathering within the country.

The police will target Makerere University, Makerere University Business School (MUBS), Gulu University, Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono, Nkumba University and Kyambogo University students first.

The force will train the students in community policing by equipping them with self defence skills in martial arts and weaponry as part of the police centenary celebrations due to last six months.
