The Ministry of Education is planning to introduce a marine Course at Namasagali University, a subsidiary of Busitema University. This follows a presidential directive to the ministry to introduce the marine course at Namasagali.

In East Africa it is only Kenya and Tanzania that have fully fledged marine training units. Museveni told the ministry to recruit the best expertise to maintain the marine course system.

Museveni was speaking on Tuesday in Kayunga district. The president was accompanied by the Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga and the Deputy Speaker of the same Uganda Parliament Jacob Oulanya.
