Luweero woman MP seat: Nabukenya sworn in for 2nd time

 

Democratic Party’s (DP) member Brenda Nabukenya has been sworn in for the second time as the Luweero district womam MP elect. Nabukenya was thrown out of parliament two months back after the court of appeal faulted her election victory.

Nabukenya went for the election rerun and again emerged victor of the highly contested elections ‘beating’ the government candidate in the race, Rebecca Nalwanga and independents Faridah Namubiru and Ramulah Kadaala.

The Luweero returning Officer Alex Komuhangi declared Brenda Nabukenya as winner of the by election after garnering 38,586 votes while her closest rival Rebecca Nalwanga garnered  22,236 votes  .

The other independent candidates Ramulah Kadaala pulled 768 votes and Faridah Namubiru got only 717 votes.
