government shocks mps over vote on account request figure

Parliament has forced government to withdraw request on vote on account budget due to inconsistencies.
Government had wanted to release 7 trillion shillings out of the 15 trillion shilling as parliament to keep government agencies running as they wait parliament to pass the national. This enables the agencies to run with money for almost four moths.
However MPs rejected the proposal saying that the law only allows 30% but not 50% as requested.
Mps said that if the government allowed 50% access of budget funds it will mean that parliament will not have finances to re-allocate to areas affected in the budget.
Mps said that they need to remove some of taxes which they think are too much in agriculture sector.
This prompted the leader of government businesses John Patrick Amama Mbabazi to withdraw the request and sort out the matter and present tomorrow.
