opposition ask government to allocate 2.5 million shillings for each graduate doctor

The opposition in parliament is proposing a salary of 2.5 million for
the doctor who is just graduating from the university, clinical
officers 1.2 million and enrolled nurse one million shillings as a
way to retain health workers who leave the country to search for
better pay.

While presenting an alternative policy statement on the health
sector, the shadow minister for health Dr Lulume Bayiga said that many
health workers have left the country because of poor pay leaving the
health sector of the country at risk.

The opposition also suggests for mobile hospital services at the
community level, because the static hospitals appropriated money by
parliament are not in position to serve the vast population.

Dr Lulume says mobile health hospitals will be able to decongest the
referral hospitals because their cases would have been handled where
ever there are.
