Acholi communities have rejected restocking project at Aswa ranch over the branding of animals with YKM(Yoweri Kaguta Museveni).
The residents claim that their animals in this ranch was taken by president Yoweri museveni and brand them in his initaials.
They demand that the animals in this ranch be rebranded to remove the tags of YKM so as they own the Aswa ranch.
This was disclosed by the woman mp for pader district lowila Otekayot before the Agriculture committee chaired by Mathius kasamba and said that communities are protesting against the project which was meant to benefit them but owned by the president .
The people say that this could be a move to take away their land.
Mp Otekayot claimed that Aswa ranch has denied to give jobs for local people and this may cause chaos if they are not allowed to be part of the Aswa ranch .
However the Director of the Animal Genetic Resource centre Dr.Daniel Kiwanuka confirmed that animals in this ranch have YKM tags but their going to be removed and calm the residents.
The committee said that mps will make a tour at Aswa ranch and verify the claims made by the people around Aswa ranch in northern uganda
