china ask uganda to have tough laws on narcotics

China Government has given Uganda a condition to amend its law on the
use of narcotics and trafficking to make it very tough so as Ugandans
who are on life imprisonment in china can be allowed to serve their
sentences back home.

The state minister for Foreign affairs in charge of international
relations okello oryem has informed parliament that as part of the
negations with the authority in china, it was expressed that Uganda
has weak law on the use of drugs, so unless the law is reviewed, china
cannot free those Ugandans who were convicted to charges of
trafficking drugs in their country.

Following the execution of two Ugandans in china over Drug
trafficking, parliamentarians asked the Government to negotiate with
China, to have the remaining Ugandans serve their sentences home.
