President receives 6 new envoys’ credentials

President Yoweri Museveni has received credentials of 6 newly appointed envoys to Uganda. The ceremonies took place today at State House, Entebbe and were witnessed by State Minister for Regional Affairs. Mr. Asuman Kiyingi.
President warmly welcomed the new Sri Lankan High Commissioner Mr. Velluppillai Kananathan and commended the brotherly relations that happily exist between the two Commonwealth countries.
Mr. Museveni told the new German Ambassador Dr. Peter Christof Bloymeyer with whom he shared issues of bilateral interest between Germany and Uganda.
Later, the President received letters of credence of the new Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Mr. Myong Kyong Chol, whom he assured that Uganda would extend to him all the necessary co-operation to ensure successful tour of his duties in the country.
President Museveni also received the letters of credence of the new Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland, Mr. Donal Cronin. He discussed with the envoy the co-operation between Uganda and Ireland especially in the field of economic development.
The new Botswana High Commissioner, Mr. John Moreti and the President discussed issues pertaining to the mineral sector which both Uganda and Botswana are endowed with.
President Museveni welcomed the new Brazilian Ambassador to Uganda, Ms Marcela Maria Nicodemos and asked her to encourage as many investors as possible from Brazil who can invest in the agricultural and mineral sectors in order to add more value to the numerous products from the two sectors. He also said that other sectors in which Brazilian investors are welcome include infrastructure development especially roads and electricity.
