The play centred on political and economic confusion that has reigned in Uganda since 1945 has a duration of about 2 hours and will be acted by reknown Ugandan actors like Patricko Mujuuka, Joseph Walugembe and a host of others.

The Director of the National Theatre, Joseph Walugembe told Journalists at the National Theatre that Kiyingi is one of the few Ugandan writers of plays that deserve to be honoured.

Wycliffe Kiyingi who was born in1930 wrote vigorous plays in Luganda that were hugely popular in the 1960s and 1970s.

Kiyingi plays are still taught in Uganda schools on the Luganda Literature syllabus.

Earlier this year during celebrations to mark 50 years of the existence of the Uganda National Cultural Centre, Kiyingi was crowned the “Golden Artist” and his written play Mudduma Kwe Kaffe was launched.
