In response to the terror alert issued by the US embassy in Kampala last week, Transport operators in Kampala have embarked on security measures to counter the recent terror threats. The taxi drivers and operators in Kampala are working with police to deploy security personnel to manage security in their work places.
The Chairperson of the Uganda Taxi and Operators Association John Ndyomugenyi said that the security personnel equipped with metal detectors are taking various security precautions for the safety of their passengers and the entire population.
He also asked the passengers and the general public to be security conscious and not to panic but report to police any suspicious cases they encounter.
