Kampala central Member of Parliament Mohamed Nsereko Zake says abandoning NRM party ticket for the same parliamentary seat will not affect him. This as Nsereko resolved not to participate in NRM party primaries; Nsereko says that he is waiting to tussle it out with NRM party candidate. He said that standing as independent Member of Parliament would be the best decision to represent his voters instead of resenting the party interest.
Mohammed Nsereko is one of the rebel NRM party MPs , though some of the MPs in this group picked forms to participate in the party primaries . Lwemiyaga county member of parliament Theodore Sekikubo recently decided to be in the party primaries saying that the disagreements that existed between himself and the party have since been resolved.
Four MPs, Theodore Sekikubo ,Muhammed Nsereko, Wilfred Niwagaba , and Barnabas Tinkasimire, were expelled from the party for breaching rule 4 of the NRM’s code of conduct, which prohibits party MPs from going against party positions and later their party held a reconciliation meeting with them and some decided to return to the party.
