Uganda Cranes took the lead in the 13th minute through Erisa Ssekisambu header from a set-piece well taken by skipper Farouk Miya. In about 10 minutes later Sekou Koita dribbled home to earn an equalizer for  the West Africans at Umuganda stadium in Rubavu on Tuesday evening.

It was a gain Miya’s efforts that led to converting a penalty spot after Erisa Ssekisambu was was fouled in the area four minutes before half-time.
Mali equalised in the second half through striker Hamidou Sinayoko deflected ball from Mamadou Coulibaly pass.

In other match Zambia edged out Zimbabwe 1-0 making them the leaders of the Group D.
