Government has introduced new guidelines for labor companies that send house maids to the Middle East. The Director Interpol Uganda, Asan Kasingye, says anybody taken out of this country for employment must go through a registered company through which Interpol will issue a certificate of good conduct.
This follows harrowing reports of Ugandan girls being abused by their Arab employers. This prompted government to temporarily suspend labour export to the middle East. Kasingye says the 3 month suspension is meant to allow labour companies to reorganize their trade and ensure safety of their clients.
