Barclays premier league side Watford have announced Walter Mazzarri as the club’s new head coach according to media reports.
Walter Mazzarri 54, replaces Quique Sanchez Flores at Vicarage Road who was sacked following the club’s slump in the second half of the barclays premier league campaign.
Coach Quique Sanchez Flores led Watford to a 13th place finish in the club’s first season back in the Premier League and also took them to the semi-finals of the FA Cup where they were beaten by Crystal Palace which didn’t please club owner Gino Pozzo.
Watford’s chief executive Scott Duxbury said that the club is delighted to secure Walter Mazzarri as the new manager since he has been a target of a number of clubs for his services.
“We’re thoroughly looking forward to working with such a highly regarded coach, with the progress and development of the club always remaining the highest priority,” he added.
Mazzarri reached the Coppa Italia final with both Sampdoria and Napoli and also managed Inter Milan.
He has been out of work since leaving Inter Milan in 2014 and now becomes the club’s 8th manager in the last four years.
