Members of parliament have demanded for the ring-fencing of some jobs for the youth so as they are captured for jobs. This as there is pressure on government to find employment for the youth who are highly unemployed despite having qualifications from universities and other institutions.

The Member of Parliament for Ruhinda north Thomas Tayebwa in Mitoma district said that limiting some jobs for youth is needed and it should also go as far as making contracts for youth to supply some services and product supplies. Tayebwa says that the government should ring fence jobs and contracts for youth as its done in Kenya so as old government officials stop standing in the way of youth getting jobs.

Makindye west member of parliament Allan Sewanyana also says that protecting some  jobs for the youth is vital as its happening for recruitments for army ,prison and police force. The national youth Member of Parliament Anna Adeke Ebaju says that restricting some jobs to youth would give them an opportunity to gain experience needed  for some technical jobs.

Meanwhile from Kasese, the woman member of parliament for Kasese District Winnie Kiiza says as MPs from this district, are increasingly upset by the daily deaths seen in Kasese without clear grounds. Reports from Kasese show that about four bodies of unidentified people dumped in Kasese were found with no clear explanations given for death.

Kiiza says they are still questioning how these deaths happened because reports indicate the dead are not known people in the area wondering whether they were brought from another area and dropped in Kasese. She calls for immediate investigations  by government into these unclear deaths to ensure all Ugandans are given equal protection.
