A report made by non governmental organization, Driving the youth-led new agribusiness and microenterprise (DYNAMIC) shows that 62% of the youth who are out of school in 8 districts of Northern Uganda are highly interested in engaging in Agriculture as their principal means of earning a living.
The survey that was conducted in the districts of Agago, Abim, Gulu, Kaabong, Lamwo, Lira and Pader is aimed at overcoming barriers for youth who are employed in Agriculture, to make a good living out of it. Lowicki- Zucca said that 80% of the youth who were surveyed in the 8 districts are ready to take up agriculture as business but they lack access to financial services and agriculture inputs to improve on their produce.
