The persons living with disabilities under the National Union of Disabled Persons Uganda  (NUDIPU) demand government to allocate 10% of its jobs to persons with disability.

The executive director of the national union of persons with disabilities Uganda Edison Ngirabakunzi said that the last national census reveals that 12.4% of the national population is made up of PWDS which then calls for full inclusion of these special people since they also contribute much to the growth of this nation.

They also want 5% of jobs in private sector to enable the increasing number of qualified persons with disabilities access jobs.

Ngirabakunzi said that though government helped the persons living with disabilities to access university education but its effort is being frustrated by not providing jobs to them after completing.

Over 200 PWDS have graduated but few  of them are  employed, he observed.
