President of the Democratic Party, Norbert Mao Museveni has mourned the death of former Uganda first lady, Damalie Kisonsokole describing her as a courageous woman, valuable mother and an educationist.
In his speech read for him by premier Apollo Nsibambi, the president said he had known the late in 1966 when the late king Muteesa had flown to exile.
Mao says he remembers Lady Kisosonkole for mobilizing women to take their children for immunization at a time when most people in Uganda didn’t believe in the practice.
Speaking in a Press conference in Kampala today, Mao says he visited the late Damalie and advised him to work towards the development of Uganda and Buganda as a kingdom. The late died on Monday last week.
