Kampala Capital City Authority acting executive director, Mr Andrew Kitaka says about 742 jobs will be available in the next months as he begins executing his role, according to reports in the Daily Monitor.
The jobs set to be advertised include; directors, deputy directors, managers, supervisors, officers and support staff.
During an interview with daily monitor on last Thursday, Kitaka said that he is working with Ministry of Public Service and the Public Service Commission and what is remaining is to only regularize these jobs.
“We are working with the Ministry of Public Service and the Public Service Commission (PSC) and they have approved our organisation structure,” Mr Kitaka made the revelation last Thursday during an interview with Daily Monitor.
“Recently, they approved our job descriptions and the next step is for them to now regularise these jobs. However, these posts are going to be advertised and competed for,” he said.
391 will
be employed on permanent basis while the Among 742 jobs will be awarded o
temporary basis.
Kitaka said employees who are currently holding positions scheduled for
advertisement will be given leeway to compete for the same job. He was
responding to a question that was asked saying that why majority of the
employees under the institution are employed on a temporary basis.
“We shall give them an opportunity to apply for these jobs when we advertise them,” he said.
Kitaka added that KCCA will have an update on the matter from the Public Service Commission by February.
