The Member of Parliament for Bullisa Stephen Birahwa has called on the government to expeditiously carry out the plans of having a fully fledged university in the Bunyoro sub- region.
In the past a number of legislators from the region plus the Kingdom have called upon the government to establish a university in the sub- region since it has no university.
Birahwa has told Parliament that for long Bunyoro has called for the establishment of a university in the region though the government is yet to establish a university in Bunyoro region.
He says however it is high time government quickly moved and established a fully fledged university, one with a university act like other public universities in the region.
Bunyoro has suggested that the government should use tertiary institutes like Nyabyeya Forestry College as a constituents colleges that will form the much need Bunyoro University in the region.
