The primary elections of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Entebbe have been suspended today following clashes between the different candidates over allegations of vote rigging.
The commotion that ensued has prompted the presiding officer of NRM elections in Entebbe, Benjamin Ssenyondo to halt the process and called a crisis meeting to address the issues raised.
After the meeting, all the candidates agreed on the cancellation of the entire process, until all allegations of voter bribery and ballot stuffing are addressed.
The candidates for the Entebbe Municipality Parliamentary seat include the former MP for Rwampara, Amon Muzoora, Christopher Ssebuliba and Charles Kirumira among others.
The people vying for flag bearer of the Entebbe Mayoral seat are three. They include the incumbent, Stephen Kabuye, Herbert Musitwa and Kasozi Kirumira.
