The President General of the Democratic Party, Nobert Mao has picked nomination forms from the Uganda Electoral Commission to contest in the Presidential elections.
Mao who was today accompanied by the party’s Secretary General Mathias Nsubuga said he is hopeful to give incumbent President Yoweri Museveni and other competitors a good run.
He says although 41 people have so far picked nomination forms to compete as President of Uganda in the 2011 Uganda general elections, most of the people who picked forms are not serious and the coming days will show who is serious about competing for the highest office in the land.
He says only about four people might end up competing for the seat of President of Uganda, him, NRM chairman and flag bearer President Yoweri Museveni, FDC President and Inter party Coalition flag bearer Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye and UPC President Olara Otunu.
The Electoral Commission is set to hold nominations for those competing for President of Uganda on October 24th and 25th at the Electoral Commission head offices in Kampala.
