The Uganda Bureau of Statistics has said today in Kampala that the country’s headline inflation rate decreased to 7.5 % in March 2010 from 8.1% in February 2010 due fall in food prices.
The latest report by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics indicates that in the month of March, the food prices index dropped by 1.6%.
The Uganda Bureau of Statistics in a news statement in Kampala today said food prices reduced in March due to increased supplies on the market.
The statement says the core inflation rate that excludes food and energy among other items remained stable at 6.5 % in March.
