Members of Parliament have called for an audit of the National Water and Sewage Corporation, one of the few surviving government parastatals in Uganda.
The demand comes after certain issues raised by whistle blowers which point at corruption, financial impropriety and abuse of office by top official of the water body.
Makindye East MP, Michael Mabike raised an alarm that there are several accusation of theft of donor funds meant for Ggaba and Jinja off shower pipe line project and safety of money paid by government in water bills.
The national water led by Dr. Nathan Muhairwe has been named among the most well run and accountable businesses and institutions in the country, but recent accusations have made some to say after all not all that glitters is gold.
